Since the start of 2020, we’ve been planting a tree for every single Cloudberries puzzle sold.
To date, we’ve planted hundreds of thousands of trees around the globe, helping to provide valuable employment while supporting some of the planet’s most fragile ecosystems.
We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved.
We were the first jigsaw puzzle company to begin planting trees, and we’re delighted to see that others have followed our lead and begun working on their own eco-initiatives too.
However, since we started this initiative, things have changed a lot around the globe, and our partner Eden Reforestation Projects is changing its model to reflect the ever-higher costs associated with planting trees around the world. To give you an idea, the cost for planting a single tree stem has risen by seven and half times since 2020.
Rather than stop our initiative, or move to a ‘landscape’ based model of tree planting (which can be harder for us to measure the impact of directly), we’ve decided to continue with planting one tree for every puzzle sold. However, from 23rd September 2023, this will apply to puzzles purchased through our own website only.
We’ve already begun removing our pledge from sales channels outside of Cloudberries.co.uk, and will gradually be phasing out the One Tree Planted logo from our packaging over the coming months.
